Welcome

A very warm welcome to Aveton Gifford CE (VC) Primary School. We are a small, friendly 'village school' in the heart of our local community. Our original school building opened in 1867, to provide education for the village and parish of Aveton Gifford. We continue to provide an education of the highest quality for all of our pupils, within the context of Christian belief and practice.

Our talented staff ensure that learning is exciting, imaginative, enjoyable and accessible for all. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum both in school hours and through our wide range of extra-curricular activities.We are committed to helping pupils reach their full potential, so they are well prepared for the next stages of their educational development.

As a small school, we are able to celebrate each pupil’s uniqueness. We aim to create a safe and stimulating environment whereby our children experience challenging, creative and exciting learning opportunities; raising our communities’ aspirations for all.  Pupils learn of their place in their rural and coastal setting and comparatively the wider world. Our children enjoy learning in a happy and supportive environment, where parental involvement is actively encouraged.

We aim to strengthen our community and church links for the benefit of all. Our unique outdoor environment including an enhanced play area, swimming pool and forest school, enables children to explore their physical and social capabilities.  Our indoor learning environment challenges pupil’s personal academic growth.

Aveton Gifford C of E (VC) Primary School joined the First Federation Trust in September 2012.
