What do the pupils think about Writing at Aveton Gifford?

"I like writing about animals. We wrote a report and mine was all about octopi" Year 3

"I love doing Big Writes because every time you get better and better and you get to talk about the things you have improved on. I like using the skills I have learnt like using speech and fronted adverbials" Year 4

Overarching English Curriculum 

In Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, our children follow Read Write Inc.

When they complete the Read Write Inc scheme in Year 2 they move onto Literacy and Language which is followed through the rest of the school.
