Dear parents and carers,
It is a government requirement that if children do not attend school, due to Covid related issues, they will be provided with home learning that covers aspects of the age or stage appropriate work, so that we can ensure the best education for them, and minimise disruption to their learning.
Below is an overview of the approach the school has taken, to make the home learning as easy to access as possible, while also ensuring your child can have opportunities to learn key skills and knowledge during their absence. If your child is absent you will receive the following information:
Please use this link to our school website, where you can access the home learning for you child/children to complete during their period of isolation/quarantine. This can also be accessed through our school website under the ‘Remote Learning Autumn 2020’ tab.
The work is designed to best match the key learning skills that would be covered in their classes in a particular week.
Please find the ‘week beginning’ to access the learning for the week your child is absent from school. The work is not planned for specific days of the week, as your child would want to start units of work on any day of the week they begin their absence. There is enough learning for a week included. We suggest that your child completes one activity from each of the areas of learning in the grid, following the lesson sequences each day where there are sequences of lessons planned. There are also additional challenges and activities relating to some subject areas, and links to websites that the children would be able to access in school to support learning in some areas. Should your child be unwell, there is no expectation to complete the work. We have provided this work virtually, so that you can easily access the resources you need.
1. Photograph or scan the work and email back to the class email address.
2. Print out or bring in the work produced on paper on your return to school Should you have any questions about the work, please either email the school admin address or telephone the school to speak to the class teacher.
3. Use google classroom in order to complete and send work back to the class teacher.
Please see below the email correspondence for each class;
