Today we said "Good-bye" to our lovely Year 6 children. Helena, Noah, Lily-Rose, Joel, Corri, Jack, Gemma, Dominic, Magi, Isaac, Niamh, Cyrus, Jenny, Ben, Hannah, Charlie and Ciara have been a brilliant Year 6, full of enthusiasm for their learning and extremely caring and supportive of the younger children and each other.
After a morning full of fun, laughter and a lot of 'shirt-signing', the whole school joined parents and carers in St Andrew's Church for the Leavers' Service.
Portraits of each Year 6 child, painted by our Year F children, together with pen-portraits, written by children in Years 3 and 4, were presented before Mr Tagent presented each Year 6 child with a book, 'Moving on', from the Church. Mr Hilling then presented sports medals followed by Miss Naylor presenting academic and achievement awards. The 'Spirit of Devon' award was presented to Jack this year for his outstanding progress and excellent behaviour.
Once the service finished at 3.30pm, the children returned to school where they were presented with 'Year 6' hoodies, very kindly bought for them by our lovely P.T.F.A.
Their time at primary school ended with a 'Pool Party and Barbecue' organised by parents.
We are all going to miss this happy, loud, sporty and very kind group of children but we know that they are all going to achieve great things at KCC and we wish them the very best of "Good Luck" as they start their secondary education.
Pictures to follow shortly....
