On Thursday 11th May the children in our Year 3 and 4 class, 'Herons', joined the children from Salcombe Primary School for a residential trip run by 'Young Spirit'.
The children were all very excited at the prospect of spending a night under canvas in Balcombe Camp.
On arriving at the camp everyone was organised in groups and allocated their tents. After unpacking the afternoon was spent learning how to whittle - which produced some great toasting forks! - and making pizzas for dinner. After eating the delicious pizzas everyone went on a night walk through the 'forest' before returning to camp for games, songs and hot chocolate.
Despite a slightly disturbed night, (due to a lot of chatter and laughter!), the children rose bright and early for their breakfast before a fun session on the zip-wire.
Everyone had a great time and returned to school on Friday afternoon tire, happy and with lots of stories to tell.
