Years 4, 5 and 6 took part in a singing workshop led by Mrs Mitchell (from Kingsbridge Community College).
The children enjoyed taking part in a range of team games and competitive races. Well done to Avon (Red) team for being the overall winners.
Children from years 2, 3 and 4 took part in an art workshop led by Mrs Medway (a visiting art specialist).
The theme of Arts Week was flowers. During the week children used different mediums to draw, paint and make flower art work.
The purpose of Walk to School Week was to promote the social side of walking; to look after the environment and to increase physical activity.
Our Easter Service was held in St Andrews Church. All the children took part and the parents really enjoyed watching the children.
On Tuesday 31st March the children from Years 4, 5 and 6 enjoyed an action packed day at the Courtlands Centre.
The children have raised £102.80 for Comic Relief by paying to come to school wearing red and from a yummy cake sale.
Parents, governors and the local community came to our website launch. Our year 6 introduced the different areas; the PTFA provided refreshments!
Our Dance Club performed at the Kingsbridge Dance festival, held at Quayside Leisure Centre. They performed brilliantly!
The children enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book characters on World Book Day. We had some fantastic costumes!
Our netball team had an exciting afternoon playing matches against other local schools. They were great representatives for Aveton Gifford.
During the week, the children carried out a number of different investigations, took part in a maths trail and played various maths games.
We begin each morning with a skipping session for the whole school. We took part in the British Heart Foundation Skipathon and raised £289.
In our first ever 'Live Music Week', the children played a variety of instruments: violin, ukulele, guitar, piano, recorder and the trumpet.
Our year 4 and 5 pupils enjoyed taking part in an exciting gym and dance workshop based on 'The Lion King' at the Harbour House.
Children in years 4, 5 and 6 enjoyed working with Miss Ubaldi (from Kingsbridge Community College) in learning a variety of French dances and songs.
The children played lots of party games such as 'pass the parcel' and 'musical statues'. The PTFA then provided them with delicious party food!
The PTFA arranged a visit from 'The Really Wild Show!' They brought along giant cockroaches, bird eating spiders, iguanas and various lizards!
Alex Mack (from Devon Waste Education) came into school to teach the children about recycling; they took part in various practical activities.
Aveton Gifford Primary School contributed drawings, paintings and sculpture to the 'Primary Colours' exhibition which is an inspirarion to artists of all ages.
